PAST EXHIBITION HISTORY of The Repository of Wonders
- 2011: The Repository is installed at ARTsPLACE Gallery Annapolis Royal, NS. Held over, it draws repeat visits, plus an interview on CBC’s Radio Main Street program.
- 2012: A “traveling” version is curated into the exhibition ReVISION, at the Nova Scotia Public Archives’ Chase Art Gallery, and reviewed by the Chronicle Herald (arts editor Elissa Barnard), and featured in Visual Arts News, Spring 2013. The October, 2012 issue of Steampunk Canada features an interview and article by editor Lee Ann Farruga.
- 2013: A full installation of the Repository is created for Acadia University Art Gallery, Wolfville, NS. Curator S. I. Hall presents a lecture to a History of Museums class in conjunction with the exhibition.
- S. I. Hall addresses a class on “Hoaxes in Art” at Nova Scotia College of Art & Design.
- The Repository receives a grant from Arts Nova Scotia to fund the creation of a Natural Sciences Wing, based on the premise that the taxidermy collection currently held by the Nova Scotia Natural History Museum was once owned by The Repository of Wonders.
- A pop-up version of the Repository inhabits space at Plan B Gallery in Halifax, NS from April-September.
- A temporary (one evening) version of the Repository is installed at the Nova Scotia Museum of Natural History on October 25, 2013 as part of the annual Creative Nova Scotia Gala Awards presentation ceremony.
- 2014: A full installation of the Repository is created at Ross Creek Centre for the Arts, NS, from July-September.
- 2015: The Repository moves from Halifax, Nova Scotia to Altadena, California, where it currently resides.
- On October 2, the Repository is installed for a special exhibition at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, California (see photos below)
- 2016: In October, the Repository is selected for installation by West Hollywood Library’s Arts & Culture Program.
